Roca is obtained after the quest "The Initial Trail," you must click and ask her to join you before she permently becomes part of the team. She'll be your strongest pet until you reach a higher level. :)

Quests:

The Initial Trial (You must complete this quest to obtain Roca)
Death of Roca's Father (This quest will activiate when you try to access the cave to South Island. This quest has no reward.)
Start Off Again With Roca (This quest is activated right after Death of Roca's Father is completed. Roca's Amity will increase by 2.)
Undeserved Roca (Warning, activating this quest will cause you to lose Roca temporarily. Roca's Amity will increase by 5.)

The player can also head up to MaKa Cave. At the very top, there will be a exit onto a clifftop. Walk around the scene until Roca comes out. Her amity will increase by 6.
